Program Activities
Our trained respite workers may provide respite care on a planned or emergency basis during the day, in the child’s home or community, with one waiver child, or with a group of waiver children.
Skill Building (SBS)
Skill Building (SBS)
Our skill-building program focuses on helping children to be successful at home, in their community, and at school through the acquisition of social and environmental skills. We offer support through a variety activities, assisting with:
- Cooperation
- Homework Completion
- Managing Public Transportation
- Organizational Skills
- Peer Relationships
- Problem Solving
- Social Skills
- The Development of Play Skills and Imagination
- Verbal Skills
Our skill building services may also be provided to the child’s family, preparing them to support their child’s development. For select clients, we also offer tutoring services, helping to build additional skills for children who are experiencing difficulties at school.
Intensive In-Home Services (IIH)
Intensive In-Home Services (IIH)
Our intensive in-home services provide ongoing intervention that supports the child and family in the implementation of their treatment plan (from their clinical provider), and their waiver service plan (established by the waiver program). This service reinforces desired behavioral or cognitive changes by assisting the child and his or her family in everyday applications, including:
- Building Self-Esteem and Identity Issues
- Crisis De-escalation
- Developing Healthy Coping Mechanisms
- Feedback on Emotional Self-Regulation in Situational Contexts
- Making Healthy Choices
- Parent-Child Relationship Building
- Parenting Skills
- Psycho Education
- Sibling Relationship Building
- Support in Working through Safety Plans

Family Support Specialist (FSS)
Our family support services are comprehensive, flexible, individualized, and family driven. We build on the family members’ strengths to assist them in ultimately developing stable and supportive families who are connected to formal and informal support systems and activities within their communities.
